Soccer Game Preview: Charlotte Christian vs. Covenant Day

Charlotte Christian is 2-8 against Covenant Day since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Charlotte Christian is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Charlotte Latin, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Charlotte Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Charlotte Latin are ranked second).

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Covenant Day ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Providence Day 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Covenant Day were the better team in the second half.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Millie Jones, who's now up to four this season.

Charlotte Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Covenant Day, their win bumped their record up to 9-3-2.

Charlotte Christian couldn't quite get it done against Covenant Day in their previous matchup on April 3rd as they fell 2-0. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
