Baseball Recap: TMI-Episcopal Victorious

TMI-Episcopal hadn't done well against Llano recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The TMI-Episcopal Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Llano Yellowjackets 7-6. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 4-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Brock Grullon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brody Worrich was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Ryan Mooney also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

TMI-Episcopal was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory snapped TMI-Episcopal's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-5 record. As for Llano, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. TMI-Episcopal will take on St. Anthony at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Llano, they will be playing at home against Marble Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marble Falls has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.63 runs per game on average), something Llano will no doubt try to take advantage of.
