Recap: Richwood Lumberjacks vs. Man Hillbillies
The Richwood Lumberjacks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight defeat. They took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Man. Richwood was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Man apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Richwood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Grant Russell. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Russell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trae Trivolette, who scored eight points.
Richwood's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Man, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-10.
Richwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-52 defeat vs. Pocahontas County on the 10th. Man will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Tolsia at 7:30 p.m.
