After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Willow Spring, Garner was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Clayton Comets. Garner better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Lily Ridge, as she scored every single goal for her team.
Garner's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6-1. As for Clayton, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-7-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garner will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Corinth Holders at 6:00 p.m. Corinth Holders will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each game than the last. As for Clayton, they will head out on the road to face off against Southeast Raleigh at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
