Davenport skates past Mater Brighton Lakes Academy with ease

The Davenport Broncos stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 78-24 victory over Mater Brighton Lakes Academy at home. Davenport's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Davenport had a senior duo take command as Sorayah Emilien scored 22 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds and Destiny Kim scored 20 points along with four steals and four blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kim has scored all season. Jeleyna Britton was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Despite the loss, Mater Brighton Lakes Academy still got an impressive performance from Delianie Diaz, who scored 17 points.

The victory makes it two in a row for Davenport and bumps their season record up to 9-2. As for Mater Brighton Lakes Academy, their loss was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Davenport has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Thunder at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Lake Region is ranked 285th, while the Broncos are ranked 264th). Mater Brighton Lakes Academy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Coyotes at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Four Corners focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
