Volleyball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Goddard Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.

Newton started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 18-25, 25-21, 28-26, 15-13.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-26. As for Goddard, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 12-18 record.

Newton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Goddard, they will take on Haysville Campus in a tournament on Saturday.
