Volleyball Recap: Newton Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Goddard Lions. While the Railroaders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 25-16 in the first set.

Newton actually scored more points across those five sets (110-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 18-25, 25-21, 28-26, 15-13.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 9-26. As for Goddard, their win ended a five-match drought at home and bumped them up to 12-18.

Newton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Goddard, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Haysville Campus on the 18th.
