Recap: Pikes Peak Christian Eagles vs. Miami-Yoder Buffaloes
In what's become a running theme this season, the Pikes Peak Christian Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 71-45 margin over Miami-Yoder. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-15.
Pikes Peak Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Wehner, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Eddie Harmon was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Miami-Yoder's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Howard, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Howard is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jel Wallerstedt, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Pikes Peak Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Miami-Yoder, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pikes Peak Christian will take on South Park at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Miami-Yoder, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Non Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th.
