Volleyball Game Preview: Hudson Raiders vs. Eau Claire Memorial Old Abes

The Hudson Raiders will square off against the Eau Claire Memorial Old Abes at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hudson took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past Rice Lake 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won seven in a row.

Hudson got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The final score came out to 32-34, 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 15-8.

Kaitlyn Drost went supernova, getting 30 digs and seven assists. Those 30 digs gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Eau Claire Memorial got the win against Wausau West on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 25-21.

The victory got Eau Claire Memorial back to even at 19-19. As for Hudson, their win bumped their record up to 24-5.

Hudson was able to grind out a solid victory over Eau Claire Memorial in their previous matchup back in September, winning 3-1. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Old Abes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
