Basketball Recap: Oak City Prep Falls Despite Big Games from Amazin Dixon and Luke Rullo

Oak City Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 79-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wayne Preparatory Academy Generals.

Despite the loss, Oak City Prep had strong showings from Luke Rullo, who went 9 of 16 en route to 30 points, and Amazin Dixon, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 23 points along with seven assists and three steals. Dixon's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiyeon Wilson, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Jabrion Armstrong was a one-man wrecking crew for Wayne Preparatory Academy as he dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Those 20 points gave Armstrong a new career-high. Gaven Proctor was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Oak City Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Wayne Preparatory Academy, they moved to 12-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Oak City Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 78-21 victory against Covenant C on the 9th. As for Wayne Preparatory Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 75-34 win against Alpha Academy on the 9th.
