Preview: Eaton Reds vs. University Bulldogs

Eaton has been on the road for five straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the University Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

A well-balanced attack led Eaton over Weld Central in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Eaton blew Weld Central out of the water with a 55-18 final score. Given Eaton's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Weld Central is ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tayla Wiedeman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Saryiah Gaona, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, University entered their tilt with Sterling with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Everything went University's way against Sterling on Saturday as University made off with a 60-34 victory. With University ahead 37-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Natalie Moore and Addison Harding were among the main playmakers for University as the former scored 14 points along with five rebounds and the latter scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Harding hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Natalie Trujillo was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.

Eaton has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for University, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Eaton have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like University struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Eaton lost to University at home by a decisive 53-37 margin in their previous matchup back in January. Will Eaton have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
