Volleyball Recap: Ripon Christian Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Ripon Christian was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Orestimba on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of the Sonora Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Ripon Christian came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 30-28, 25-23, 15-25, 20-25, 15-13.

Paige Van Hofwegen paced Ripon Christian's offense, picking up 14 kills. Van Hofwegen got some help from Alanna Blanco and her 41 assists. Blanco was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Ripon Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 20-10. As for Sonora, the victory snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 16-5 record.

Ripon Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sonora, they will challenge Venture Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
