Softball Recap: Central Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Forest Hills on Tuesday, Central Academy came back down to earth. The Cougars came up short against the Piedmont Panthers on Wednesday, falling 9-1. The Cougars have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Kieryn Peters was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Central Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Piedmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Central Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Piedmont, they will challenge West Stanly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Colts will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
