After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Beaumont, Redlands East Valley was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Citrus Valley Blackhawks, sneaking past 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Redlands East Valley took Citrus Valley into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-19, 21-19.

Mark Huynh paced Redlands East Valley's offense, picking up 30 kills. Huynh got some help from Giovanni Carissimi and his 50 assists. Finally, Huynh was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.
