Baseball Recap: Fasman Yeshiva Wins Going Away Against Cristo Rey Jesuit

Fasman Yeshiva won the last time they faced Cristo Rey Jesuit and things went their way on Sunday too. Fasman Yeshiva put the hurt on Cristo Rey Jesuit with a sharp 11-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Fasman Yeshiva.

Ari Joe Lefton made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lefton was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Naftali Neikrug, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Yakir Schwartz, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Fasman Yeshiva's record is now 2-0. As for Cristo Rey Jesuit, they dropped their record down to 2-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Fasman Yeshiva will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park at 7:00 p.m. on April 3. As for Cristo Rey Jesuit, they will venture away from home to challenge Walther Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
