Clayton Valley Charter better keep an eye on Tyler Winkles. He was instrumental in Acalanes' win, rushing for 123 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries, while also throwing for 199 yards and one TD on only 18 passes. Those 123 rushing yards gave Winkles a new career-high. Finley Rivera was in the mix too, providing Acalanes with two touchdowns.
Acalanes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Grant Ricker and Rivera.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Clayton Valley Charter has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 274.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Acalanes struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 198.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Clayton Valley Charter and Acalanes were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but Clayton Valley Charter came up empty-handed after a 28-27 defeat. Can the Ugly Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
