Baseball Recap: Jensen Beach Gets the Win

After losing to Palm Beach Gardens the last time they met, Jensen Beach decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Jensen Beach Falcons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Palm Beach Gardens Gators on Friday. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by just one run.

Jensen Beach got a great performance from Vincent Cooke as he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Cooke has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Graham Garner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Preston Honea was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Jensen Beach now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Palm Beach Gardens, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Jensen Beach will square off against Jupiter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Jensen Beach: 2.8, Jupiter: 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Palm Beach Gardens, they will challenge Forest Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
