Baseball Game Preview: Marcos de Niza Padres vs. Saguaro Sabercats

For the second straight game, Marcos de Niza will face off against Saguaro. The Padres will head out on the road to square off against the Sabercats at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Marcos de Niza has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Marcos de Niza came up short against Saguaro on Tuesday, falling 13-3.

For Saguaro's part, Vinnie Keck made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts Keck has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Kyle Miiller was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Louis Busseri also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Saguaro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Saguaro has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Marcos de Niza, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
