Basketball Game Preview: Ashland Grizzlies vs. Crater Comets

Ashland is 0-10 against Crater since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Ashland Grizzlies will look to defend their home court against the Crater Comets at 5:30 p.m.

Ashland is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They lost 59-38 to Thurston.

Meanwhile, Crater entered their tilt with Springfield on Friday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They secured a 53-47 W over the Millers. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Millers are ranked 35th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crater pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for Ashland, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
