Football Recap: Summertown Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Summertown kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 35-14 to the Lawrence County Wildcats. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Although Summertown took the loss, they still got scores from McKaleb Powell and Jake Pettus.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Powell, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Looking ahead, Summertown will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Wayne County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lawrence County, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Loretto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
