In this week's power rankings, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down, along with everything in between. There's a new number one at the head of the rankings as well as a new caboose.
Welcome
Lake Taylor was the big favorite in its game against Wilson last week, and for good reason. Lake Taylor put the hurt on Wilson with a conclusive 63 - 14 victory. That 49-point margin marks the most Lake Taylor has won by all season. The win also thrust it into the power rankings, where the team now holds the 25th spot.
Can't Touch This
The Dinwiddie offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. The final score between it and Petersburg was a 56 - 20 blowout in Dinwiddie's favor. Dinwiddie especially relied on senior Tyre Dalton, who ran for 190 yards and also punched in three touchdowns, and senior K'ymon Pope, who earned two touchdowns and 114 yards rushing the ball. Senior Tyre Dalton was a key playmaker for Dinwiddie. One of the top players in the power rankings for the week, he rushed for 190 yards and three touchdowns.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Centreville (16th in the power rankings) and Westfield (4th). Centreville picked up a decisive 'W' against Chantilly, finishing up at 49 - 14. Unfortunately, Centreville's success didn't carry over into the power rankings, where it took a six-spot dive.
Movin on Up
After flying high with 49 points the game before, North Stafford took quite a dive last week. It had a rough outing against Riverbend, losing 55 - 7. Unfortunately, the defeat ended North Stafford's three-game winning streak. The team's efforts were enough to boost its power ranking by eight, which was the most sizeable gain made by any team in the rankings.
