Volleyball Recap: Clover Blue Eagles vs. Catawba Ridge Copperheads
Clover extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 11-19. They lost 3-0 to the Catawba Ridge Copperheads. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Copperheads this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
Emilee Lessmeister paced Clover's offense, picking up eight kills. Lessmeister got some help from Emma Perkins and her 20 assists. Saniya Anderson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
As for Catawba Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-12-1 record this season. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 7th (when they won 3-0).
Leading Catawba Ridge to victory were Jameson Reynolds and Davin Freeman. Reynolds had five digs and four aces, while Freeman had 11 digs and two assists. That's the most aces Reynolds has posted since back in September. Leah Okogbenin also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.
Coming up, Clover will welcome Ridge View at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Catawba Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
