Football Game Preview: Plant Panthers vs. Robinson Knights

Plant is 0-4 against Robinson since March of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Plant Panthers will head out to square off against the Robinson Knights at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Plant is headed out to face Robinson after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Plant walked away with a 19-6 victory over Strawberry Crest on Wednesday.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Plant's defense and their five sacks. In that department, Sophia Ventura was the leader with three.

Meanwhile, Robinson entered their tilt with Bloomingdale on Tuesday with 24 consecutive wins dating back to last season, and they'll enter their next game with 25. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulls 33-6. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Knights had established a 21 point advantage.

Plant better keep an eye on Haidyn Spano. She was instrumental in Robinson's win, throwing for 171 yards and five touchdowns. Spano also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception. 113 of Spano's passing yards were hauled in by Jasmyn Mitchner, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Plant came up short against Robinson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 20-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Spano, who threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Now that Plant knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
