Baseball Recap: West Babylon Comes Up Short

West Babylon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 5-2 to the Smithtown East Bulls.

West Babylon got a good showing from Nico Milani, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Milani has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, West Babylon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Mandelbaum, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

West Babylon's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Smithtown East, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

West Babylon will welcome Smithtown West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Smithtown East, they will head out on the road to challenge Miller Place at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
