Soccer Game Preview: Charles Page vs. Owasso

The Charles Page Sandites will head out on the road to face off against the Owasso Rams at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Charles Page's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Charles Page's offense. They lost 5-0 to Broken Arrow on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Charles Page can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Broken Arrow are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Owasso came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.1 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Jaguars a 3-0 shutout. Considering Owasso have won four games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Charles Page's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Owasso, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

Charles Page beat Owasso by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2019, winning 5-4. Do the Sandites have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
