Game recap: Canby High School Football Team tops West Linn

CANBY, Ore. - Canby (Ore.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat West Linn (Ore.), 38-7, on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Isaac Shrier in the first quarter, the Cougars led 19-0 at the half.

Canby expanded its lead to 25 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS's lone score in the quarter came on a Jace Cates touchdown run.

Sam Stelk stood out for the Cougars in the win. The senior quarterback ran for one touchdown. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.

The Lions' lone touchdown came on an 8-yard pass in the fourth quarter.



Canby entered the contest giving up 26.9 points per game this year.

The victory will ease some of the sting of CHS's close 31-27 loss to West Linn last season.

In a 6A Three Rivers game next week Canby (4-4) takes on Clackamas, and West Linn (2-6) will go up against Lakeridge also in a 6A Three Rivers game.
