Baseball Recap: Juniata Valley Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

It's playoff time, and Juniata Valley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Northern Cambria Colts with a sharp 10-2 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Juniata Valley got a massive performance out of Vincent Hoover, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Hoover a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Scalia, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Juniata Valley has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Northern Cambria, they moved to 19-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Juniata Valley nor the Colts have any future games scheduled.
