Basketball Recap: Father Lopez Takes a Loss

Father Lopez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 30-24 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cocoa Beach Minutemen. The Green Wave were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Minutemen apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Father Lopez still got an impressive performance from Addy Fulton, who posted 12 points. That was a full 50% of Father Lopez's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Father Lopez's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Cocoa Beach, they pushed their record up to 6-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Father Lopez wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-25 defeat against Flagler Palm Coast on the 21st. As for Cocoa Beach, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-19 loss against Rockledge on the 22nd.
