Basketball Recap: Wharton Takes a Loss

Wharton lost against Brazosport back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wharton Tigers were outmatched by the Brazosport Exporters and fell 62-27. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

It was another big night for Deja El-Amin, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 boards for Brazosport. El-Amin has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Sanii Player was another key player, putting up 21 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.

Wharton's defeat dropped their record down to 11-20. As for Brazosport, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season.

Wharton will challenge Sinton at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brazosport, they will square off against Rockport-Fulton at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th.
