Basketball Recap: Victory Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Capers Jones and Blake Straughn

Victory Christian saw some tournament action on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 53-37 to the Oakwood Christian Eagles.

Blake Straughn and Capers Jones certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Straughn dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 boards, while Jones posted six points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Victory Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Oakwood Christian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Victory Christian will head out to take on Curtis Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Oakwood Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Anderson Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
