Basketball Preview: Nease Panthers vs. Fletcher Senators
Nease is 8-0 against the Senators since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Nease Panthers will take on the Fletcher Senators at 7:00 p.m. Nease is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Nease proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 40) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Menendez out 40-38. The team ran away with 30 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nease to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daniela Reich, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Casey Eliason was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Fletcher's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They received a tough blow as they fell 45-26 to Bartram Trail.
Nease is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Fletcher, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.
Everything came up roses for Nease against the Senators in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 58-15 victory. With Nease ahead 31-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.
