Basketball Recap: University Starts Season with Win Against Sheffield

University took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They took down the Sheffield Knights 67-50.

University's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Brewer Jr. led the charge by shooting 64% from the field en route to 19 points and four steals. Those 64% shooting accuracy gave Brewer Jr. a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Johnson, who posted nine points and three blocks.

When it comes to explaining why Sheffield lost, don't look at Sigmond Donelson. Despite the final result, he earned 28 points.

Sheffield is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

University wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-42 victory against Ridgeway on the 2nd. As for Sheffield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-42 loss against Westwood on the 2nd.
