Football Game Preview: Burlington Cougars vs. Wiggins Tigers + How To Watch

The Burlington Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Wiggins Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Friday, Burlington came up short against Wray and fell 28-18. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Burlington got top-tier performance from Jason Saucedo, who rushed for 137 yards and three scores. Saucedo is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 137 every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Wiggins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Yuma.

Burlington will have to keep a close watch on Michael Adamson and Brock Forsha, a pair of players who had a big impact on Wiggins' prior game. Adamson picked up 146 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Forsha threw for 156 yards and two TDs.

Wiggins' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Burlington, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Burlington has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 365.2 total yards per game. It's a different story for Wiggins, though, as they've been averaging only 224 total yards. Will Burlington be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Tigers flip the script?
