Softball Recap: Mansfield Legacy Now 18-1 over Last 19 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mansfield Legacy walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Midland Bulldogs with a sharp 9-3 win on Friday. Considering the Broncos have won 20 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Natalie Moreaux was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, Meredith Meredith was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Katelyn Moreaux was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Mansfield Legacy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 20 consecutive matches.

Mansfield Legacy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Midland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 29-8.

As of now, neither Mansfield Legacy nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
