Softball Game Preview: Bishop Foley Ventures vs. Dearborn Pioneers

The Bishop Foley Ventures will square off against the Dearborn Pioneers at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Bishop Foley and ten for Dearborn.

Bishop Foley couldn't beat Central Catholic on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Ventures fell 9-6 to the Fighting Irish.

Sasha Walker was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbey Jones, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Franklin hit Dearborn with a four-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pioneers fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pioneers have suffered against the Patriots since April 21, 2021.

Niveen Sleiman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Madison Shoff, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Dearborn's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Bishop Foley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
