Basketball Game Preview: Rising Sun Tigers vs. Fallston Cougars

Rising Sun hasn't had much luck against Fallston recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Rising Sun Tigers will head out to square off against the Fallston Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rising Sun will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Bohemia Manor, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Rising Sun breezed by Bohemia Manor to the tune of 54-14 on Monday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly 40 points.

Meanwhile, Fallston was able to grind out a solid victory over Perry Hall on Saturday, taking the game 46-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Fallston's win came from a few key players Rising Sun will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Natalie Wirth, who went 8 for 20 on her way to 17 points, to go along with six boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Bolesta, who posted eight points in addition to 12 rebounds and five assists.

Rising Sun's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.9 points per game. As for Fallston, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Rising Sun might still be hurting after the 48-27 defeat they got from Fallston in their previous meeting back in February. Thankfully for Rising Sun, Ayla Galloway (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
