Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Avery Bloebaum and Eastyn Luebbe Lead Columbus to Victory

Columbus won the last time they faced Lincoln Northeast and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Discoverers walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Rockets. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Discoverers.

Columbus had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-23, 25-21, 25-12.

Columbus was led to victory by Eastyn Luebbe and Avery Bloebaum. Luebbe had 11 digs and two aces, while Bloebaum had 22 assists and seven digs. Bloebaum has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more assists the last three times she's played. Brandlyn Gentile also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Lincoln Northeast's loss came despite strong showings from Addy Murrell and Patricia Mozee. Murrell had ten digs and two aces, while Mozee had 16 assists and two aces.

Columbus' record is now 12-13. As for Lincoln Northeast, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

Columbus has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Lincoln Southeast on the 9th. As for Lincoln Northeast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Lincoln North Star on the 9th.
