After a string of five wins, Magdalena's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Texico Wolverines. The match marked the Steers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Magdalena's defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2. As for Texico, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

After both having extra time off, Magdalena and Fort Sumner/House will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 3:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Fort Sumner/House knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Magdalena likes a good challenge. As for Texico, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Capitan at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. The timing is sure in Texico's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Capitan has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
