It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Centerville had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Shelbyville Dragons 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Dragons on Thursday, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

Jake Gray was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Brooke, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Centerville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

Centerville has been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5-1 record this season. As for Shelbyville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 12 games and leaves them with a 26-8-1 record.
