Basketball Recap: Rowan County Comes Up Short

Rowan County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a hard 72-56 fall against the Nicholas County Bluejackets. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

Rowan County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Nicholas County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rowan County will head out to square off against Breathitt County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Nicholas County, they are taking a road trip to face off against Western Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
