The IC Catholic Prep Knights will challenge the Niles West Wolves at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. IC Catholic Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

IC Catholic Prep is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering De La Salle just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Meteors by a score of 4-3.

IC Catholic Prep saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ariani Zito, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another was Ema McMillen, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Niles West). Everything went their way against Maine East on Thursday as they made off with a 19-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Blue Demons: they've now won seven in a row.

Penny Hutchison was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Camea Pastor also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Niles West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .577. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Niles West's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for IC Catholic Prep, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-5.
