Softball Recap: New Deal Lions vs. Olton Mustangs
New Deal won the last time they faced Olton and things went their way on Friday too. The Lions blew past the Mustangs 20-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.
Niassa Saldana made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Saldana was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Kammy McNeil was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That home run was her first of the season.
