Football Recap: Saddleback Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Saddleback played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 44-7 loss at the hands of the Westminster Lions. Having soared to a lofty 31 points in the game before, the Roadrunners couldn't push the score so high this time.

Andre Scott threw for 70 yards and one TD. Angel Figueroa was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards and one score.

Westminster found their leader in freshman Beckham Sharp, who threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes.

Saddleback's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Westminster, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saddleback will welcome Beverly Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Roadrunners will be up against the Normans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Westminster, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Brea Olinda at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Wildcats' defense has only allowed 14.2 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them.
