Basketball Recap: NSU University Sets Scoring Season-High Against Naples

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask NSU University). They ended the year with a bang, routing the Naples Golden Eagles 76-51 on Friday. Given the Sharks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 402nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Xavier Osecola, who went 9 for 12 on his way to 30 points and four steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 17.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Jones, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

NSU University was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

NSU University now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Naples, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

NSU University wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-53 loss against Bishop Verot on the 28th. As for Naples, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-49 defeat against Mater Academy Charter on the 28th.
