Softball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Hurricane

Hurricane hadn't done well against Cabell Midland recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Redskins came out on top against the Knights by a score of 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redskins.

Kate Justice spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hadley Lawson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Kylie Bailey also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Hurricane pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cabell Midland, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 8-2 record.

Coincidentally, Hurricane and Cabell Midland will both be playing Spring Valley the next time they take the field. The Redskins will head out to face the Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Knights will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
