Volleyball Game Preview: Fortuna Huskies vs. Eureka Loggers

The Fortuna Huskies will venture away from home to challenge the Eureka Loggers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fortuna has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since September 13.

Fortuna lost 3-0 to Arcata on Tuesday.

While Fortuna was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Arcata's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-10, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Eureka made easy work of McKinleyville on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Loggers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won nine in a row.

Eureka's got stronger as the match went on, holding McKinleyville to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-12, 25-11.

Eureka's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Fortuna, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.

Fortuna might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Eureka when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
