After losing to Nyack the last time they met, Clarkstown South decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Vikings put the hurt on the Red Hawks with a sharp  8-1 victory on Thursday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by six  runs or more this season.
 Nick Speckenbach made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those  12  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Justin Amodeo was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Kenny Johnston, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  RBI.
Clarkstown South pushed their record up to 6-2 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Nyack,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-6.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clarkstown South will host John Jay  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. As for Nyack, they will look to defend their home field  on  the 26th against East Ramapo [Ramapo/Spring Valley]  at 1:00  p.m.
