Basketball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Mcewen

McEwen extended their winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Laila Downs. The McEwen Warriors were the clear victor by a 75-51 margin over the McKenzie Rebels on Monday thanks in part to Downs, who dropped a double-double on 44 points and 16 boards. The game was her 20th in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Shana Bohanon, who went 9 for 12 on her way to 21 points and seven steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

McEwen is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for McKenzie, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

McEwen has already played their next contest (against Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. McKenzie has already played their next game, a 54-45 defeat against Jackson Christian on the 21st.
