It was a good run, but St. Mary's Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Holy Spirit Prep Cougars. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

St. Mary's Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-22.

Molly Krabel paced St. Mary's Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Krabel really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 13. Finally, Joanna Carney kept St. Mary's Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

St. Mary's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Holy Spirit Prep, they pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Cougars beat St. Mary's Academy by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.
