Basketball Recap: Buckeye Local Comes Up Short

The Buckeye Local Panthers came up short against the Weir Red Riders on Friday, falling 59-39. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 725th in Ohio, while the Red Riders are ranked 69th in West Virginia).

Buckeye Local's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Weir, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.

Buckeye Local will head out on the road to take on Bridgeport at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Weir, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-27 loss against Dover on the 1st.
